Re: [photoshop-beginners] Insight on calibration

I recently purchased an inexpensive 22-inch monitor for work I do at home.  I was only concerned with price when I bought it.  It has basic contrast, brightness and gamma controls.  Is this likely to benefit from calibration, or do cheap monitors lack something needed for calibration to be effective?
