If you "...want to butt two photo corners together on the corner where I want to remove is...", then you mean to collage two (or more) photos,
If you were doing this with physical prints of photos, you would indeed crop them by cutting the corners.
BUT if you are creating the collage in PS, then you only need to make a file large enough in width and height to contain the photos you are combining. You can then mask the corners. For example, with the two photos on separate layers, move the upper one over the corner of the other. Then create a mask of the upper one showing all. Then paint on the mask with black to hide the portion of the upper photos corner you wish to remove. The two photos will be perfectly butted together visually, not physically. But when you print the file, they will appear so.
Plus, with a mask, you can always go back and change what you've done.
