My suggestion would be to save the image as a PSD and then if you want to view it also save it as a .JPEG file. :-)

Would anyone have any idea if there is a way to view psd files on Windows8 in the thumbnails view in file explorer? I hate to have to open PS when looking for a specific file.  I'm not very happy w Windows8 unfortunately.
