RE: [photoshop-beginners] Re: Aligning images after Photomerge?

Are you aware that when you save the Photomerge, you do not have to have the
photos merged into one layer? That is, you can save the Photomerge with
each image as a separate layer. They will be aligned correctly, just on
separate layers. This way you can make corrections and edits easier than if
they had all been merged into one layer. When you are ready, you just
flatten the image and you will have the same result as if the merge had
occurred earlier, but with the edits taken care of.

BTW, have you played with the Content-Aware fill with this image, you would
be surprised at what may turn out. Try it with the wedge shaped fill, it may
surprise you. It is not perfect, but when it works, the results are great.

Subject: [photoshop-beginners] Re: Aligning images after Photomerge?

I've been thinking about different ways to solve my problem with this
panorama image.

One thing I'd like to try will result in the top of a hill being
"offset": like part of it was dropped by a foot as a result of an
earthquake.

I can fix this by adding a wedge-shaped fill to taper the hill where it is
currently missing.

I can select the area I want to fill by any of several means.

How do I sample a section of the image (ie, trees, or sky) that I can use to
later fill the selected area of the image?

In other words, how does one choose a non-solid color -- and instead choose
something from the image -- to fill a selection with?

Thanks,
Dave
