If end of letter path is one node, than thickness may be controlled by curve handles from the node.
Else, if end of letter path is more than one node, move two or more nodes to preserve thickness,
Alternative is to paint the extension, merge that with raster image of letter, then select result and convert selection to path for refinement.
(Cats need nine lives 'cause there are so many ways to skin 'em.)
God bless you always, all ways,

I assume I need to make it into a path - which I did - but I got a skinny line rather than a line that matches the thickness of the letter. (Of course, the end of the letter fades to a thin line in the end.) How can I do this?
