I am in a couple of Photoshop yahoo groups & mainly post to ask questions. Not very qualified to answer many questions though. Many of us, no doubt, have busy lives & Photoshop is one way to relieve some stress brough on by that 'life'. Bu someone in the group has always replied to my questions.:~)   If U needed the basics I could tell U about a good basic lessons group. I didn't reply because I am not adept enough yet to comment on those two books; although I do have them. Since my interest is mainly about the technical aspects of printing or a new use for a PS tool that I was unaware of.  I tend to either read cursorily or delete stuff that doesn't match my interests.  That doesn't mean your questions are not valid or mistaken just that it didn't tweak anyone's interest. I also sometimes do not respond because I know other individuals have much more knowledge and will give a better answer. Hang in, read a bit and I think you'll see what the ebb and flow of messages is on this list.
