[photoshop-beginners] Re: need color settings expert for PhotoShop CS3

Sue,
It sounds more like a monitor problem. Check the color settings on the monitor to make sure you are set in a normal mode or daylight. Mode. If you are not then re-set to Daylight. If it is temperature based you can set the monitor to as high as 7000K. Most people find this to be very blue visually at first.

If the monitor settings are good then move on to the video card settings. Most newer cards allow you to adjust the profile and save it. If you settings are messed up you could be looking at a monitor that is too yellow. When you save your image adjusting for the visual colors in PS and embed the profile the image will certainly look off.

If you are correcting the image in PS for color, and the monitor color is off; a visual adjustment will drive the color way out of balance.

The sRGB profile should be fairly normal for Windows or even Firefox. I have mine turned on for general work.

Make sure you are not working with a incandescent light turned on nearby. The color from the light can skew your judgement on the colors on the screen.

To get back to normal take 1 thing at a time and verify settings.
Keep asking and we'll try to keep helping.
