Re: [Adobe_Photoshop_Techniques] Your advice please

I think the real question is why you use all those programs if it is because you are going to school for it and you want to make a living at it then yes you will want CS5, and while you can get it at a descent price.
In my experience Adobe comes out with a new version at most every 3 years or so and most computers are not much more than large paperweights by 5 years. When it comes to the job market it is always best to be up on the latest software. So I would consider it an investment in yourself.

Hi everyone,

I'm at a point where I'm upgrading my computer; however, I don't know that I can justify the cost of purchasing the Adobe CS5 Master Collection. I can get it at an academic cost of $600; I just don't know that I would use it enough to take the jump.

I use Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and Photoshop some. Is it worth the cost to get the CS5 version? For those of you who use CS5 - is it worth the cost?

Thanks

Gil
