from what I know you'll never get to use 4GB but approx 3GB if you install the \switch....if the app you are using can use it.

Ps uses what it needs....does your Ps efficiency run below 100% meaning you already use the hard drive for some files? if so, more ram access would help but at expense of OS and other apps.....if not it will make no difference at all.

Try a new setting and see if it helps or causes trouble....can't hurt anything.

If you are using HD in normal Ps use because you use up all RAM (and PC runs very slow) more HD will help only if that is your primary (in prefs) and the HD and wire (NOT USB) is faster than the internal drive or the internal drive is nearly fully used already.

Try it...you will know via trial and error testing.
