RE: [Adobe_Photoshop_Techniques] DNG file conversion?

Since DNG uses lossless compression, you will lose no image quality. I suggest you watch this video by Terry Wight on why to use DNG. http://tinyurl.com/ykuuwg9

Subject: [Adobe_Photoshop_Techniques] DNG file conversion?

Does anyone convert their RAW files to DNG files? Is there any downside? I have a 21mp camera and notice that my typical RAW file is 17 meg but when I convert it to DNG it drops to 13 meg plus you don't have an additional XMP file if you edit the RAW file. With over 18,000 photos on my hard drive saving a good bit of space is appealing (if I don't loose any image quality). Thanks. Steve
