I am not sure what the CAXMP folder is either. Is that a MAC thing? I used Photoshop CS6, LR4, InDesign CS6, and Dreamweaver CS6 and my XMP files reside in the same folder as the photo on my Win7 machine.

Subject: Re: [photoshop-beginners] Delete XMP Files?
Do you use Bridge or Lightroom?
as stated the XMP files are created by Apps like these to store the changes to the file that you have made. When you use a RAW file like NEF or CR2 or others...these files are not actually edited. The data from the edits is stored in the XMP files and the original RAW file is left untouched. Programs like Lightroom and Bridge can store edits in the XMP files for jpg files as well.
CAXMP as a folder name seems out of place...Do you use Premier elements as well? Premier can create XMP files for video edits and stores them in various folders. They may be deleted after the edits are saved.
