Probably....
If the originals are in 1 folder; then you might be able to match them back up in the original fold with a restore. If they are scattered across the drive then you will have to hunt them down file by file...The XMP files are small you are probably not saving too much disk overall. I'd restore them and be safe at this point. If they do not match up to anything they are flotsam and you need not worry about them ever again. If they match up you have not lost your previous work as saved in the side car files.

Greg, that might work. Except the images are no longer in Recycle, only the XMP files! Did I goof really badly by deleteing them from Recycle and leaving only XMP files in recycle? Thanx for your imput, Trish

The Image file name should...Should be a part of the file name...
Example...
GJG_001.NEF would have a GJG_001.XMP file with it.
If you sort the recycle bin by file name they should match up with deleted files image files.
Any that do not match need to be restored to the folders they came from.
