John,

1.Open your photo that you want to make darker in photoshop

2.If using a PC, hold down control and J to make another layer

3.over on the layers palate (probably on the right) change the normal to multiply

   if you do not see the layers palate, go to windows above and check the layers palate so it shows up.

4. If it is still not dark enough, hit contol and J again and change the blend more on that layer also...if too dark then, adjust the opacity.
