[photoshop-beginners] Two CS 5s

It looks like I installed two CS 5s on my computer, one of them is 64 bit. Question 1: Do I need two of them? Question 2: With the "plain" CS 5 when I call up a photo to work on nothing shows up on the screen. But I do get a photo when I do the same on the 64 bit. How can I fix this on the "plain"?

Also I can download some of my older software into the "plain" CS 5, Color Efex 2. But not on the 64 bit.
