[photoshop-beginners] deleting in bridge in win 10

I can't delete a file in Bridge . I get the message do you want to send this file to the recycle bin and click yes but the file doesn't delete. Tried the trash can and edit delete. Same result. I checked to see if it was read only. It wasn't. I am signed in as the administrator. I am using adobe CC on windows 10. Any suggestions?
