To calibrate for consistency across all devices, give very serious consideration to the DataColor Spyder4Pro Elite version. The Elite is the only version which will allow consistent calibration of all devices. And you do need to calibrate - at least the monitor. The advice about converting to sRGB, if monitor/cell phone/social media display is your main objective - that advice is good too. If you were going to print images, then Adobe RGB would be the way to go.
