Re: [photoshop-beginners] Grainy Photo

I've been doing this type of thing for many years. If you want to send me the full size file I'll see what I can do and send it back to you. 11x14 from a 1.75 meg file might be pushing it for size. I will then give you the steps of what I did so you can practice. Putting it on a pillow will probably work better than printing it as you can get away with a little less resolution for that application. My direct email is    smitty56401@charter.net

Hi to all,

A friend recently sent me this photo of her and
her granddaughter and asked me if there was
anyway to clean it up and enlarge it to 11 x 14"
so she could put it on a pillow.  The original is
a 1.75 MB cell phone image.  (1840 x 3264)
I tried to straighten it up, size to an 11" X 14",
and remove the noise,
but it only made a
soft image even softer and give the image
a mottled effect.  Does any one have any
suggestions on how I can improve and sharpen
the image?

Original at web size 55.9 kb:

My attempt :

I could post the original 1.74 MB image in
the forum if requested.

Respectfully,

Walter
