RE: [photoshop-beginners] Black & White photos

Thanks for adding the links to your reply it saved me from typing a bit.  One thing I have found to help get "natural" looking color is to find a color photo and sample the colors from there to use on the B&W.  It does not have to be of the same people or subject.  Grass and skin are some of the hardest colors, at least for me, so it helps to find a color photo that contains skin colors or grass colors.  I have also found blue jeans are a bit tough to get the actual color of the jeans material.

It takes a lot of practice to get the colors to look natural. The first few pictures I colorized looked very washed out and unnatural, but eventually it gets better.
