There are several ways to go about when colorizing B/W photos in Photoshop. I Googled "Colorizing black and white photos in Photoshop" and came up with these (among many others):
It takes a lot of practice to get the colors to look natural. The first few pictures I colorized looked very washed out and unnatural, but eventually it gets better.
Good luck, it's a lot of fun when you "get it",
