Re: [photoshop-beginners] question about the latest photoshop

Well, never having seen Photoshop 2, I have can't really do a comparison to Elements 11...

I will, however, suggest you either google "PSE 11" and search for features or better still, hop over to adobe.com and check out the program itself. You can download the latest versions of Photoshop CS, Elements and Premier (which is more geared toward videos) for a 30 day free trial. Be sure to check the system requirements though, to ensure these programs will work with your computer before downloading.

Thank you so much...glad to know that. I use those tools all the time.
For now, I am fine with what I have. However, if i have to buy a new computer,
I will need an updated version of photoshop.

What other tools does the program you use have that I wouldn't have on
Photoshop2?

Hi Susan and welcome to the group :)

I recently upgraded from Elements 6 to Elements 11 and I can tell you that both versions have the artistic filters you are speaking of.

I have been using Elements since 2008 and greatly enjoy the program! I also have CS6 and Lightroom, but they are new and don't have experience with them as yet.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

I am currently using photoshop 2 to make designs.

I know that this is a very very old edition. So I went
to the apple store to see what the latest photoshop has.
I was told that there are two: one for professionals and
one called Photoshop elements(which is much cheapter). I
happened to look at the more expensive one for professionals.
I wanted to see what it had that photoshop2 did not. Specifically,
I went to "filter".  I found that certain tools that I have were
missing...such as "artistic." (which has, for example, paint daubs,
palette knife, plastic wrap, poster edges...etc.)  I wondered whether
it is found under another name.  Is that included in Photoshop elements?

Thanks.

Susan
