I use a number of 'cloud' services and have for over a year (some more than that) and have yet to have any issue. What many people get caught up in is downloading software from unverified services/programmers not maintaining good internet security software, poor password selections, etc. Cloud services run by providers such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc. have security staff that maintains up to date security monitoring of the services and data.
It is best to always remember security for any computer that has any access to networks with internet access. Security, security, security is the key.
