[photoshop-beginners] Scratch Disk Full

Has anyone encountered the box stating the "scratch disk is full" and if so how do you empty it? Got all ready to do some work on CS5 and the box came up when I told it to "crop image." My computer guru is not home to help. Thanks for any help you can give. Maryo
