I think when you right click on a jpeg image and choose Open With, the bottom selection is “Default Program.” The other way you can get here is to right click on the jpeg and choose Properties, and then to the right of the Opens With prompt, there is a Change button you can select. Try this and see if it works. This is in Windows 7. Vista may be slightly different.

Subject: [photoshop-beginners] PS files...help please..
Dear List...
My new laptop operates on Windows 7 but my desktop operates on Vista. Both have Adobe Photoshop CS5 in them.
My problem is that when I access any image from Vista, if it is a PSD file then it indicates PS on the icon. if it is a jpg or any other image file, it shows it as a photo. In my laptop, all my photos and images have a PS icon in them, well apart from my RAW files which came straight from my camera. As soon as I edit my RAW files, it will also attach a PS icon in it.
My question is how can I make my images appear as a regular image file -- jpg, png, tiff, etc. as that, an image and my PS file as a PSD with the PS icon in it. I have not had this problem before so I am sort ignorant about this.
Can someone please help???
Thanks,
Izzie
