Google for free tutorials.  Check out the lynda.com free tuts, photoshopcafe free tuts. Try Dr. Browns web sitel, http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html There are plenty out there.  Play with all the tools just to see what they can do (or can't do) Practice, practice, practice.
