Re: [photoshop-beginners] To Stan

Hi, Stan. I'm sorry to be late in replying but my mailbox has 10,000+ message and I overlooked yours. Just wanted to say thank you for your advice about sealer.  I'll get me some!

Clare,  I think he means "Clear Acrylic Sealer".  On the back of the can it says, "It is used to seal prints, drawings, Use as a sealer on decaupage projects, bisque, and stain-finished ceramics."

I bought a 12 ounce can at Wal-mart for about $6 and change.  I bought it to seal photographs to keep the photos from sweating under glass.

Hope this helps,

Stan

Hi. I'm sorry to be so late in replying but I just saw this message. Thank you so much for your advice. Can you recommend what brand of fixative I should use?

Another thought, after you cut it out, you might want to spray the back and edges of the paper too, so the decoupage liquid doesn't seep through the back.

I don't know about the size difference, but if you spray the pictures from your printer with a fixative after your ink is dry and let the fixitive dry, you should be able to use the decoupage liqud on them without smearing.  (You might need several light coats of the fixative.)

Subject: [photoshop-beginner s] Problems with Printing

Hi. I created some images in Photoshop in a particular size, because I plan to decoupage them onto wooden blocks, so they have to fit perfectly. I don't have a laser printer, so I emailed them to my sister and asked her to print them on her laser printer.

I went to her house to pick them up and they were twice the size I had created them in. I asked her why, and she said, "All I did was open your attachment and print it." The same thing happened when I emailed the images to a local print shop. They came out too big. I asked the guy to open the image on his screen and measure it. He did, and it was about an inch too big overall.

Why does this happen? It doesn't happen on my home printer (which I can't use for this project because it's an inkjet and the decoupage liquid would smear the image).

Thanks for any advice.

Clare

Subject: [photoshop-beginner s] Printing Proof Sheet

I'd like to print out some proofsheets, but with the images somewhat larger than those that the standard Photoshop proofsheet options print. Any way to do this easily?

Thanks in advance from Norm
