Hi, I'm new to this group. I am appreciative of the discussions. I've yet to really put much in place since I've had a busy couple of weeks. I did take a photoshop class at one of the community colleges a couple of years ago, but barely scratched the surface. Since that time, I've put it all on hold.
An interesting thing happened to me last night when I logged onto the infraview site. I had heard from friends about infraview before this discussion. My grandson was visiting and I wanted to show him this site. Many years ago I had been on it, but not for maybe 4 or 5 years. I didn't go through google, I just tried www.infraview.com thinking this was the http address.
I actually hope this isn't the correct site because I got 2 trojans that McAffee picked up. What happened was, I went to the site above and within seconds a box popped up in the bottom corner of my screen detecting 2 trojans ..
I immediately tried to close the site I was on, it looked like Infraview because of the information on it, but I couldn't close it. It took about 3 or 4 minutes of trying to close it..
I did control alt delete a number of times and that didn't work. Then, I just hit the button on my computer to shut it down cold. That even took a bit of doing. My grandson was with me and witnessed this- he's a computer wiz kid. I doubt he will try this site- now- and for me- I can't imagine how that happened on a site many people use.
After shutting down- I turned my computer back on and now seem to have no problem although I'm trying to figure out a better virus protection besides McAffee.
I had to accept McAffee since yahoo/att wouldn't support other email packages- it's what they offer their clients.
It did catch it, but I haven't liked McAffee it in the past. I just haven't gotten around to using another right now. I'm grateful that it stopped it.
So, I do have to report what happened- sorry to say, but, true story- now I'm gun-shy.. how do I let the infraview staff know? I had nothing but my email open-
at the time. Has anyone else experienced anything like this. I may be a beginner on photoshop, and not the best techie person- this definitely came from the http site www.infraview.com.

I use it all the time, just was not aware of the screen grab features. It is my default image viewer as it is so fast. With its plug-in, it is also my default mp3 player and video player, again because of speed. When I listen to music, or videos, I use an appropriate player, but when I just want to listen or view something in explorer, Irfanview, with its plug-in is a lot faster than opening a dedicated player.

I am surprised more people do not use Irfanview. I have for years and it is the best around (IMHO) and you can't beat the price. Free unless you want to contribute to the author.
