Re: [photoshop-beginners] brush question-SueK

You can make a folder on any drive. Example: name your folder: "C:/Brushes". Inside your brush folder you can make a folder for whatever categories you wish. Example: Clouds, Flowers, Leaves, whatever.
I don't put my brushes inside Photoshop because if you have them in a folder they will be available to other programs, such as PSE, or more than one version of Photoshop.
You manage your brushes from the brush menu in Photoshop. You can Load, Reset, Replace, Save, etc.
There are programs that allow you to view a picture of your brushes. ABR Viewer is free. Preset Viewer is $$.
This just skims the surface of the subject of brushes but it will give you a start.

I still haven't figured this one out. I was offered a link to check out but I didn't see a way to add categories in folders and have ps recognize them.
I really wish we could. It would make things so much easier . lol

Has anyone answered you? (Off line maybe?)
I have the same problem and I'm not sure how it can be done. But I find
all the brushes have different names and sometimes they are not
indicative of what shape they are, etc. What a mess.
You can easily put them in separate folders but I don't know if PS will
be able to find them when you want to load them.
