Are you talking about the colors in the color palette on the left bottom if so click D on your keyboard and it will bring the black and white colors-

Check to see fi you are using the eye dropper tool. You may have accidently
picked the wrong tool from the group. Click and hold on the eyedropper tool
until the flyout menu appears and then choose the eyedropper. Or hit I on
your keyboard until the eyedropper icon appears in the tool bar.
