[photoshop-beginners] Re: PS CS3 white back to transparent

Barbara, if it's the background layer that you're trying to remove white from, make sure you change the locked background to a regular layer by highlighting that background layer(it must be blue) and double clipping on it to change it to layer 0 (a little window pops up for you to name the layer, if desired) and then hit okay. Now use magic wand on backgound and it will be transparent (gray and white checkerboard).
