thanks for your reply!

I guess I'm trying to save time by seeing in print a logical method of
using - rather than spending a lot of time trying things out for myself.

And i thought there might be a tutorial around somewhere which i can't
seem to find at the mo! Even your remarks about S and L are and would be
useful!
