In CS3, one could select all of an image then go to modify, then contract by a given amount of pixels. This is not available in CS4. I did a search for a work around and found a script that will do the trick. Just download the script and add it to you Photoshop/presets/scripts folder. Then if you select all and go to file/scripts and run the script, you will be able to contract the selection by the number of pixels you want. You can find the script at:
I am not sure if it will work with CS4 64 bit as I lost my 64 bit machine. But it does the trick on the 32 bit machine. (Lost means no boot no more and Windows declines to reinstall-Fry's tech says it sounds like MB controller malfunction)
