Hi Delia,
My first guess would be that your Camera is new and therefore it's RAW files are not able to be opened by ACR (Adobe Camera Raw). Unfortunately, once a new version of Photoshop is released, new versions of ACR are made for that version only and cannot be applied to older versions of Photoshop.
If this is the case, I would recommend downloading and installing the Adobe DNG converter and convert the RAW files to that format so that they can be opened in ACR. This is no different than the RAW file directly out of your camera other than the fact that it is open source coding developed by Adobe in hopes of creating an industry standard for RAW files. Several camera manufacturers are already using the DNG format.

Subject: [photoshopgroup] CS3 - sRAW1 Canon 50D
I am having a problem. I took some photos with my Canon 50D sRAW1, when I try to open in photoshop CS3, it does not recognize the file type. I went looking for an update, downloaded it, and it still does not work. Can someone please help me? Is there a newer update out there? It is frustrating because I am looking forward to start learning how to work with raw images.
Thank you in advance!!
